Terms of service.

The website

The site is free to use, with no account. Please use it in good faith: don’t try to break, overload or probe it, and don’t hit its endpoints with scripts. The audio endpoint only answers for words in our vocabulary, and we may rate-limit it.

The app

You need to be at least 13 years old to use the ArabicTyper app.

Your licence.We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use ArabicTyper on your devices to learn. Please don’t copy, resell, reverse-engineer or abuse it.

The free tier. Unit 1 of the course, twenty free-practice words a day, and the review queue are free. We may adjust what the free tier includes; anything you have already paid for stays yours.

ArabicTyper Pro.

• Pro is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, either as an auto-renewing subscription (monthly or yearly) or as a lifetime purchase paid once.
• A subscription renews automatically for the same period and price until you cancel. Manage or cancel it any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.
• Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase.
• If we offer a free trial, it turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel first. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited once you subscribe.
• Refundsare handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us. We can’t issue them ourselves.
• Prices can change. We’ll give notice, and you can cancel before a change takes effect.
• The lifetime purchase covers the ArabicTyper app for as long as we publish it. It is tied to your store account, so “Restore purchases” brings it back on a new device.

What the app teaches.ArabicTyper is a learning aid for reading and typing Modern Standard Arabic. We work to be accurate, but we don’t guarantee every definition, vocalization or transliteration is complete or error-free, and the app is not a substitute for a teacher or a professional translator.

What belongs to whom

The name ArabicTyper, the logo, the course, the writing, the audio and the design of the site and app belong to Bobo Labs Oy. You are free to link to and share the site, and to use the app for your own learning. Please ask before reusing the branding, the course or the audio for your own purposes.

The word list behind the dictionary and the app is built from Wiktionary and the OpenSubtitles frequency list and is available under CC BY-SA 4.0, as described on the acknowledgements page. That licence covers the word list, not the course, the audio or the design.

App stores

Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the store you downloaded it from. For the iOS app, Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or for support; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. You agree to use the app in line with the App Store and Google Play usage rules and applicable export laws.

No guarantees

The site and app are provided as they are. We work to keep them accurate, available and online, but we can’t promise they will always be available, error-free or current. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using them or relying on what they say. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Suspension

We may limit or end access if the site or app is misused. You can stop using them at any time; deleting the app removes your learning data from your device.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the project evolves. The date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use the site or app after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Finland, where Bobo Labs Oyis based. Any consumer protection rights you have locally that can’t be waived still apply.
